The fall ends and the winter comes slowly. In Istanbul we are still enjoying the sunny days of fall. I want to share one of my travel experiences about cold weather and culture. You might guess that I will mention some Nordic countries and you are right. The subject is Stockholm and its Sauna culture.

During our South America trip, we traveled with buses as much as we could especially when there were no time limitations. I generally prefer to travel with anything that stays close to the ground such as trains, buses and cars 🙂 In this post I am going to share my reasons and give you some very useful tips if you’re going to see South America someday.
There is famous Turkish saying, “Dreams keep men alive.” You’ll have a vision someday or a dream takes shape in your mind. Years pass and you don’t even remember that dream. In fact it hasn’t gone anywhere, it’s still standing at some place in your mind but you just can’t recall it. HĂĽsamettin Kocan too had a dream, stablishing a museum in his village where he was born and raised. He never forgot his dream and despite many hardships he faced in life he built the museum that he was dreaming about in 2010. A few years after opening the museum, in 2014 to be precise, it received the Council of Europe Museum Prize. This prize is given by the Committee on Culture, Science, Education and Media of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). The Council of Europe Museum Prize has been awarded annually since 1977 to museums that have made a significant contribution to the understanding of European cultural heritage.
In this article I want to write about an artist who never stopped pursuing his dreams, HĂĽsamettin Kocan and his mangnificent museum, Baksı Museum, which has been in my “Must Visit” list since I have heard about it.

Antigua and Barbuda is one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean Sea. Last year after the Atlantic crossing we spend a few days there. I wrote about how it felt to see Antigua after a long and exhausting sailing trip in this post yesterday and decided to write more about Antigua itself today.

Every year over 11,000 camels, horses, and cattle are brought to Pushkar. It is a small town in Ajmer, Rajasthan. The reason is quite obvious, to be seen and sold. The Pushkar open-air livestock market is held on every November in Pushkar and is one of the world’s largest livestock markets. Owners of ranches come here to buy and sell animals. And at the same time there is a camel festival in here.
Machu Picchu, Nazca lines and its relations with aliens , Inca civilization, the local Peruvian people with their colorful outfits, their dark skins and smiling faces are the main things you will probably remember about Peru. Beside these, foods like chifa and ceviche, pisco sour drink and more Inca ruins will welcome you in Peru. We only had to chance to stay for one week in Peru but I highly recommend staying for two weeks at least for anyone who is planning to visit this beautiful country. Uniting with Nature
Feeling the wind that touches every part of your body, waves shaking you, sleeping under the stars, seeing different shaped clouds and shining Planktons under the sea during the nights, watching the flying fishes in the sea and the races of dolphins are just some of the best things you will witness during your sailing trip. All these things make you think of the greatness of the mother-nature.
I decided to share our experience of crossing the Atlantic so I will try to give detailed information about how to cross the Atlantic ocean on a sailing boat and our journey and answer the most frequently asked questions that people throw at us all the time.
